The Bindspire Bugle

this bad boy is drifting alright

The Server's First Ferry Was A Train. Then The Dock Started Spinning.

Yesterday morning, Havensurge put the promise in writing: “my objective is to get it moving today.” The project was already gloriously suspicious, a ferry dressed around Create train mechanics, glued together piece by piece until the boring part became the hard part. “eugh, glueing the whole train together is a chore” was the build note, and honestly, that is how you know the machine was real.

Then Liiilos climbed aboard for testing. Forward two seconds. Back. Forward again. Hold spacebar. The trial got one perfect line from the builder: “it works!” Then came the christening: “I dub this magnificent ship / The Driftwood Ferry.” underscor_e supplied the first public review: “bro i think your boat has some water in it.” Correct, and also rude to a vessel doing its best.

By last night, Boofreon got the tour before the rails were fixed. Havensurge admitted the underwater route still had enough S-turns to make the ride miserable, then discovered the dock could rotate with a wrench. The field report landed immediately: “this bad boy is drifting alright.” That is not a bug; that is branding.

The other big work was quieter and much heavier: RealIceCreeper kept reshaping spawn. What looked like a casual archipelago was actually a block-count crime scene, backed by a Create stone farm and a lot of placed stone. When Jakob2202 asked, “you have a stone generator whyyy xD,” the answer was simple: “this is spawn.” Later, after a lush-cave rescue mission, a chameleon egg, a spawner that betrayed everybody by turning back into a zombie spawner, and an almost-Hovering Inferno plan, the night ended less with a boss fight than with two players deciding to save the big dangerous thing for when they were actually ready.

By the Numbers: RealIceCreeper owned the day: 206 messages, 119 Mob Kills, 23.81 km traveled, 6672 Blocks Placed, and 1064.1 hearts of Damage Dealt. Jakob2202 flew 68.8 km by elytra and still took the most punishment at 139.7 hearts. WrongChatnoir had the rough welcome tour with 3 Deaths and 6 Achievements; Boofreon logged 4.4 h and made dying to mobs sound like “a side hobby.”

A ferry moved, spawn grew teeth, and Homestead got just a little more ridiculous in all the right ways.
