Play Homestead

Join the world behind the Bugle.

Homestead is an 18+ Create survival community where players build towns, run shops, connect the world by rail, and turn everyday server life into tomorrow’s story.

Installation and whitelist approval can happen at the same time. Once both are ready, Homestead is already saved in Multiplayer.

Get into Homestead

Do these two things in either order.

Get community access and install the official profile. Once both are ready, connect through the Homestead server already saved in Multiplayer.

1 · Get access

Join the community, introduce yourself, and request whitelist access.

  • Join the Bindspire Discord. Open Discord →
  • Introduce yourself in #introductions — your age or 18+ confirmation, exact Minecraft Java username, and how you like to play.
  • Request whitelist in #whitelist with the command below.

Run in #whitelist

/whitelist request username:YourMinecraftName

Use your exact Java Edition username — capitalization counts. The bot validates the name with Mojang and confirms the moment you're in.

2 · Install Homestead

Choose your launcher, download the official profile, and follow its installation guide.

Downloading also opens that launcher's step-by-step guide below.

3 · Connect

Open Multiplayer, select the Homestead server already saved in the profile, accept AutoModpack sync if prompted, and join.

  • Open Multiplayer.
  • Select the saved Homestead server.
  • Accept AutoModpack sync if requested.
  • Restart Minecraft if AutoModpack asks.
  • Join and say hello in #arrivals.

The server address ships inside the official profile — no manual setup, no typos.

First-launch essentials

  • Give it time The first launch may take several minutes while mods, shaders, and assets initialize.
  • Accept AutoModpack sync Accept AutoModpack synchronization. Restart Minecraft if it asks.
  • Don't update individual mods Do not update individual mods or the profile unless a Bindspire announcement says the server has updated.
  • Use the right memory and Java Allocate 6–8 GB of memory and use Java 17. Going above 10 GB does not improve performance.

Do not update individual mods or the pack version yourself. AutoModpack syncs are the exception — always accept those.

More first-launch details

If it crashes immediately, check Java 17 and your launcher's memory setting. The official profile bundles the right Java. If your launcher asks, pick Java 17 — Java 8 or 11 will crash on startup.

Some mods may ask to update when Minecraft opens. If a popup asks about a mod update, choose no, cancel, or don’t show again — AutoModpack is the one sync you should always accept.

Do not update the profile unless Discord announcements say the server has updated. AutoModpack syncs are okay.

Launcher guide

Follow the guide for your launcher.

Use the approved Homestead 1.3.6 profile — newer is not always better on a multiplayer server. The profile matches what the server runs.

Pick a launcher to open its step-by-step guide.

CurseForge .zip

Keep the .zip zipped. Import it into CurseForge, then join Discord to request whitelist.

  1. 01 Open CurseForge.
  2. 02 Go to Minecraft → My Modpacks.
  3. 03 Click Import.
  4. 04 Select the Homestead .zip file.
  5. 05 If CurseForge asks, choose All Files.
  6. 06 Launch the profile.
CurseForge My Modpacks screen with Import button highlighted.
01 · Import from My Modpacks
CurseForge Import Profile dialog showing Import Profile zip.
02 · Choose profile zip
File picker selecting the Bindspire Homestead zip.
03 · Select Homestead zip
CurseForge warning dialog showing the All Files button.
04 · Choose All Files
CurseForge My Modpacks screen showing the installed Bindspire Homestead profile.
05 · Launch the profile

Do not click “CurseForge Files Only” if it appears — that skips required mods and produces TerraBlender / incompatible-mod errors. Always choose All Files.

If Safari unzips the file on Mac, turn off “Open safe files after downloading” in Safari settings, then download again. Chrome or Firefox also avoid this issue.

Download again Bindspire Homestead-1.3.6-V2.1L.zip

Modrinth .mrpack

Download the .mrpack, import it into Modrinth App, then join Discord to request whitelist.

  1. 01 Open Modrinth App.
  2. 02 Click the plus button on the left sidebar.
  3. 03 Choose Install modpack.
  4. 04 Choose import from file.
  5. 05 Select the Bindspire Homestead 1.0.1.mrpack file.
  6. 06 If Modrinth shows an Unknown file warning, click Install anyway.
  7. 07 If Modrinth asks which files to install, install all files.
  8. 08 Create/install the instance.
  9. 09 Launch the profile.

Modrinth may show an “Unknown file warning” because this file is downloaded directly from the official Bindspire website instead of the public Modrinth catalog. That is expected for this install path. Only click Install anyway if the file came from the official Bindspire download button.

Download again (opens in new tab) Bindspire Homestead 1.0.1.mrpack

Prism Launcher .mrpack

Download the .mrpack, import it into Prism Launcher, then join Discord to request whitelist.

  1. 01 Open Prism Launcher.
  2. 02 Click Add Instance.
  3. 03 Choose Import from the left menu.
  4. 04 Click Browse.
  5. 05 Select the Bindspire Homestead 1.0.1.mrpack file.
  6. 06 Confirm/create the instance.
  7. 07 Launch the profile.

Troubleshooting

Something went wrong?

Find your symptom, open it, and follow the fix.

Cannot connect / "not whitelisted" message.

Your username isn't on the whitelist yet, or you're connecting outside the official profile's saved server entry.

Make sure you ran /whitelist request in #whitelist and got the bot's confirmation — it tells you directly the moment you're in. Then join through the official profile; the server entry is already saved inside it, so there's nothing to type or mistype.

Still stuck? Ask in #join-help on Discord.

Whitelisted, but the server still rejects you.

The username you gave the bot doesn't exactly match your real Java Edition username — capitalization and underscores count.

Run /whitelist request again in #whitelist with your exact Java username (check it in the Minecraft launcher profile, not your Discord name). The bot validates against Mojang, so a name it accepts is spelled right.

Mac: the game crashes before the window even opens.

Two mods in the pack are known to crash some Macs during early startup: Eldritch End and Spark.

In your launcher's mod list for the Homestead profile, disable Eldritch End and Spark, then launch again. This is a known Mac-specific issue with these two mods — everything else in the pack runs fine.

Still stuck? Ask in #join-help on Discord.

Missing mods / mod mismatch when joining.

The server compares your mod list against its own and rejects mismatches — usually a hand-updated mod or a skipped AutoModpack sync.

Accept the AutoModpack sync prompt on join (and the restart it asks for) — that's what brings your install back in line. Never update or remove individual mods yourself; if you already did, re-import the approved profile from the Play page and let AutoModpack take it from there.

Still stuck? Ask in #join-help on Discord.

AutoModpack re-downloads files every single join.

One re-download right after a server-side update is normal. A loop on every join is not — something is failing to apply.

Fully close the game and launcher, relaunch, and let one sync finish untouched. If it still loops, grab the AutoModpack log from your instance folder (logs/automodpack.log) and post it in #join-help — that log says exactly which file won't stick.

Still stuck? Ask in #join-help on Discord.

"Failed to verify username / invalid session" on join.

A stale launcher session — common right after AutoModpack restarts the game for you.

Fully close Minecraft AND the launcher, then relaunch and join again. The server's auth is fine; the launcher just needs a fresh session token.

Still stuck? Ask in #join-help on Discord.

CurseForge or your launcher won't start the pack.

Corrupt install, account not signed in, or an install path the launcher can't handle (special characters, OneDrive-synced folders).

Use the launcher's Repair on the profile, confirm your Microsoft account is signed in, and keep the install folder out of OneDrive and away from special characters. If it dies instantly at launch, check Java next ↓.

Still stuck? Ask in #join-help on Discord.

Instant crash at startup (wrong Java).

The launcher is using a system Java that isn't Java 17 — Java 8 or 11 dies before the window opens, newer Javas can too.

In the profile's settings, set Java 17. The official profile bundles the right one, so this mostly bites hand-built Prism instances — pick a Java 17 runtime in Settings → Java.

Still stuck? Ask in #join-help on Discord.

Crashes mid-game or brutal stutters (memory).

Launcher defaults of 2–4 GB aren't enough for Homestead; too much can hurt too.

In the launcher's per-profile settings, allocate 6–8 GB. Don't go above 10 GB — oversized heaps cause their own stutters. If you were on 5 GB and it mostly worked, 6–8 will fix the rough edges.

Still stuck? Ask in #join-help on Discord.

Low FPS or GPU crashes.

Shaders and Distant Horizons together are heavy, and ultra render distance multiplies both.

Disable shaders first (Video Settings → Shader Packs → Disable) — the pack is fully playable without them. Running Distant Horizons AND shaders? Pick one. Then lower render and simulation distance, and update GPU drivers.

Still stuck? Ask in #join-help on Discord.

Joining works, but you keep timing out.

If it's just you, it's client-side network or memory pressure; if it's everyone at once, it's the server.

Check the live status on this page first. If the server's up, lower simulation distance, disable shaders, and restart the launcher. If several people are timing out at the same moment, staff already see it — hang tight in Discord.

Still stuck? Ask in #join-help on Discord.

Server shows offline right after a restart.

The server restarts daily around 4 AM Eastern, and a modded server takes a couple of minutes to come fully up.

Wait a minute or two and retry — the status pill above goes green when it's genuinely ready. If it stays down well past a restart window, check Discord for a status note.

Still stuck? Ask in #join-help on Discord.

Voice chat is silent.

Simple Voice Chat is disabled in-game, or the OS never granted Minecraft microphone permission.

In-game: Settings → Voice Chat, make sure it's enabled and the right mic is selected. Then check microphone permission at the OS level (macOS is strict about this). If the voice-chat test sound works but in-game doesn't, ask in Discord.

FAQ

Quick answers to the questions we get most.

Why Discord first?

Discord is where you get whitelisted and where you can ask for help. You can install the pack before joining Discord, but the whitelist step happens there.

Why whitelist?

Whitelist protects builds, inventories, and server performance. We want new players. We just don't want anonymous chaos.

Can I use Prism Launcher?

Yes. Homestead's official guide supports Prism Launcher, the Modrinth App, and the CurseForge App. Pick whichever you already use.

Can I use the Modrinth App?

Yes. The Modrinth App is officially supported by Homestead. Match the recommended version on this page.

Do I need Java 17?

Homestead's official install guide calls out Java 17 for startup crashes. Use Java 17 for the client.

Can I update the pack to the latest version?

Not automatically. Match the version listed on this page. Newer is not always compatible with the running server. Staff updates this page when the server version changes.

Where do I ask for help?

In #join-help on Discord. Bring your username, launcher, pack version, and either a screenshot of the error or a log link.
