A NEIGHBORHOOD BEFORE NIGHTFALL

“any neighborhoods recruiting? I would like to live with neighbors for a change”
The map arrived before the house did. On Atlazsk’s first Homestead afternoon, a request for nearby neighbors brought directions from Keywas, word of open town spots from TacticalEchos, and then gingerlmao offering a teleport and a walk around the snowy plains. Within minutes, the newcomer was looking west, learning who lived north, and getting exactly what they had asked for: not merely land, but people on the horizon.
Omayor arrived mid-tour with a stretched-out welcome and a warning that TacticalEchos kept an underground silo and nuclear base nearby. Atlazsk’s answer—“that sounds awesome actually”—suggested the neighborhood pitch had survived disclosure. By evening, Homestead had done what no compass can: made an unfamiliar patch of terrain feel inhabited before the first block of home was placed.
THE ENGINE BENEATH THE FLOOR
That warning led to an excellent inspection. TacticalEchos showed Omayor and Superglitch55 a giant steam engine whose moving carriages were controlled through ComputerCraft, with a hidden farm feeding the works and a future control room still to come. Omayor called it one of the best builds they had seen; Superglitch55 left with the equally useful verdict, “this was cool to see tho.” The pumps were ready but quiet. The ambition was not.
THE SWORD KEPT OFFICE HOURS
Overnight, kaestar, skhl20, and CretinFreak turned a frog-village visit into an extended series of duels. Skhl Slayer earned its name repeatedly, CretinFreak became everybody’s preferred punctuation mark, and the sword was renamed mid-spree before the night finally settled. Somewhere between hugs, revenge, and another respawn, kaestar offered the official justification: “for the good of the people.”
Next Stops on the Hand-Drawn Map
- Where does Atlazsk put down a first foundation? Does TacticalEchos bring the full engine and control room to life? What name survives on kaestar’s sword by morning?
- Send the desk a welcoming neighbor, a machine worth touring, or the first sign of a new home.
