Five Wide and Still Alive

Overheard in Homestead

“My nine block monster is getting trimmed to 5. On it right now.”

By midafternoon, nine blocks of moving-base ambition had been pared to five. ggkrisi_ posted the new carriage beside its oversized ancestor: six blocks high, packed with storage, and narrow enough for Homestead's shared railway.

The trim was not surrender. It was a redesign. Earlier, ggkrisi_ had measured the monster at nine wide and declared, "The train had a good run." Then the screenshots arrived, the slimmer body found admirers, and the best advice came from trackside: "You can always make a train longer! Instead of wider LOL." By evening, the interior was taking shape and the moving base still had a future—just one that could meet the rest of town on the same rails.

The Spruce Valley Local

Before dawn, B00kWurm found a spruce valley tucked into the snow and asked how to reach it. Boofreon took the train south, delivered Book to the new country, and left him to a view later captioned simply, "The base spot 🤩."

A few hours later, Dur4bl3 toured the beginnings, offered an alliance, and said, "u can build here." The visit became a machinery walk-through: vertical belts, induction generators, and Dur4bl3's plan to pull food, wood, power and assorted chaos into one factory. Book's verdict on the generators was wonderfully sufficient: "Idk what I'll even do with it I just like making em lol."

Where the Rails Bend Next

  • Does the five-wide moving base gain another carriage? What rises first in the spruce valley: house or factory? Can Dur4bl3 fit the whole production line under one roof?
  • Show the newsroom the cleverest machine you've squeezed into too little room.
